The Journal of Astronomical Data - Submission of manuscripts

We have kept submission very simple.
We need a well-written description of the data, the data collection process (instruments, time, filters), and, if applicable, also the calibration process, and the arrangement of the data on the CD-ROM. This is most conveniently done in the form of an article. You can write this article using LaTeX (preferably) with a style file that is convenient to you; MS-Word or WordPerfect documents are fine as well. There are no predefined styles and formats necessary, because we will rework accepted articles and data towards our own style.

The article need NOT contain the analysis of the data; this will be, or has already been, published in an other journal.

The data can be submitted on tape (DAT is preferred, the tape will be returned), 3.5" diskettes (DOS/UNIX formatted, data may be compressed with suitable compression software (gz, zip, lzh, etc.); diskettes will be returned), or, if the size is less than approx. 3 Mbyte, we can ftp the files to here.

We require, however, that the data are not yet available in electronic form via a publicly available databank, ftp-service, etc.

The bibliographical information will be sent to the several abstract services available (CDS, ADS, ADC, NED (if applicable), etc.), so that the data are easily located by other astronomers, and that proper citation is taken care of.
